ORONO, ME – The University of Maine baseball team completed the series sweep of Hartford on Sunday afternoon, 9-8.

Third Inning:
Quinn McDaniel opened the scoring up in the contest with an RBI double to left field, scoring
Ryan Turenne on the play.
Joe Bramanti followed up with a RBI double of his own, this one going to right field, plating McDaniel.

Fourth Inning: Hartford brought home their first run of the contest as Daniel Burnett hit an RBI single to center field, bringing home Ben Maycock.

The Black Bears would get the run back in the bottom of the frame as
Jordan Schulefand hit a sac-fly to bring home
Connor Goodman.

Fifth Inning:
Jeremiah Jenkins made it 4-1 Black Bears as he launched a solo home run to right field.

Ryan Dee's day came to an end after 4 and 1/3 innings of work, allowing 4 earned runs on 8 hits, 3 walks and striking out 2.

Sixth Inning:
Joe Bramanti brought home
Quinn McDaniel on a fielder's choice play at the plate, in which McDaniel avoided the tag by the Hawks catcher, to make it a 5-1 Black Bear lead.
Jeremiah Jenkins brought home
Joe Bramanti on a groundout to first base.
Scout Knotts later came into score on a wild pitch thrown by the Hawks.

Seventh Inning: Daniel Burnett made it a 7-3 game as he hit a 2-run home run, plating Ben Maycock on the play.

Brett Erwin's day came to an end after 6 and 1/3 innings of work, allowing 3 earned runs on 6 hits, 1 walk and striking out 7.

Eighth Inning: Tremayne Cobb Jr. got his squad going in the eighth inning as he hit a double to left center, scoring Kevin Koziol. Ben Maycock made it an 8-6 game as he hit a 2-run double to left center, plating Cobb Jr. and Derek Tenney.

Daniel Burnett tied the contest up at 8-8 as he hit a 2-run home run to left field, scoring Ben Maycock.

Jake Marquez took the lead back for the Black Bears as he hit a single to left field, scoring
Scout Knotts.

Jordan Schulefand (5-1) picked up the win in relief, throwing 1 and 2/3 innings, allowing no runs on 3 hits and striking out 3.
