Orono, Maine -- The University of Maine men's track & field team placed third with 104.25 points in a meet with UMass, Dartmouth, UMass Lowell, UNH, Vermont, Northeastern, and UConn in Amherst, Mass.
Cameron Hughes (discus),
Kyle Jacques (long jump),
Crispin Kamundala (triple jump), and
Samuel Mills (5000m) all won their respective events.
Jacques took gold in the long jump with a leap of 7.19m while adding a third place showing in the 100m dash (10.93) and an eighth place finish in the 200m at 22.42. Hughes won the discus with a throw of 48.11m while also placing seventh in the shot put at 14.50m. Crispin's jump of 13.11m in the triple jump was good for the gold while Mills' crossed the line first in the 5000m at 15:14.76.
Ben Cotton was impressive at UMass. Cotton was the runner-up in the 100m at 10.91, tied his personal record and Maine's 10th best mark of all-time in the long jump with a third place mark of 7.04m, and took sixth in the 200m at 22.29.
Zachary Beaton took bronze in the 110m hurdle at 15.45 and placed fourth in the long jump with a leap of 6.94m.
Lucas Bergeron was third in the 5000m with a final time of 15:29.20 while
Jonathan Prell's throw of 15.36m in the shot put was also good for third.
Ryan Gendron cleared 1.85m in the pole vault, tying him for third in the event.
Gavin McGarrity finished fourth in the shot put with a mark of 15.07.
Conner Michaud (400m hurdle - 55.93) and Elijah Caret (5000m - 15:31.35) each added fourth place showings.
Alec Troxell moved into seventh on Maine's all-time top-10 list in the 1500m after placing fifth in 3:51.12.
Ryker Brown added a fifth place finish with a mark of 14.82 in the shot put while
Andrew Munroe placed fifth in the 400m at 50.73.
