ORONO, ME – The University of Maine baseball team extended their win-streak to 9 as they walked off in the Ninth over UMass Lowell, 7-6.

First Inning: Gerry Siracusa got the scoring going early for his side as he hit an RBI single to left field, scoring Robert Gallagher. Brandon Fish later scored Siracusa from third on a sac-fly to left field, making it 2-0 Riverhawks.

Second Inning:
Connor Goodman got the Black Bears on the board with a sac-fly to right field to bring home
Scout Knotts.
Colin Plante made it a 2-2 contest as he hit an RBI single to center field, bringing home
Jeremiah Jenkins.

Fourth Inning:
Jordan Schulefand gave the Black Bears their first lead of the day as he hit an RBI groundout to shortstop, bringing home
Jake Marquez.

Fifth Inning: The Riverhawks scored three unearned runs in the frame as Gerry Siracusa reached on an error by the shortstop, bringing home Alex Luccini. Fish followed up with an RBI single to left field, bringing home Jacob Humphrey. Cedric Rose capped off the inning with an RBI single to shortstop, scoring Gerry Siracusa.

Sixth Inning: Alex Luccini drove in the 6
th run of the contest for UMass Lowell as he hit an RBI single to left field, bringing home Roddy Hernandez.

Brett Erwin's day came to end during the 6
th inning as he pitched 5 1/3 innings pitched, allowing 6 runs (2 earned) on 9 hits, no walks and 5 strikeouts.

Jeremiah Jenkins made it a 1-run game as he hit an opposite field home run, bringing home
Scout Knotts.

Ninth Inning:
Scout Knotts tied up the contest as he was hit a by pitch with the bases loaded in the bottom of the ninth, scoring
Jordan Schulefand.
Jeremiah Jenkins then walked it off for Maine as he drew a bases loaded walk, scoring
Quinn McDaniel.

Jordan Schulefand (4-1) picked up the win for the Black Bears, throwing 2 innings of perfect ball, striking out 3.

Sal Fusco (1-2) took the loss for the Riverhawks, allowing 2 runs on 2 hits and a walk across a 1/3 of an inning.

The Black Bears will head on the road for a non-conference matchup at Merrimack on Wednesday, April 27 before returning home for a weekend series against Hartford from April 29-May 1.
