LOGAN, Ut. -- The University of Maine softball team was defeated by Idaho State University, 12-4, in game number one, while also being defeated in game number two, 7-3, by Utah State on Saturday afternoon at LaRee & LeGrand Johnson Field.

The Bengals scored two runs in the bottom of the first inning. Idaho State placed two runners on base before they cleared the bases with a double. After one inning, Maine trailed 2-0.

The Black Bears scored three runs in the top of the second inning.

Keely Clark crushed a two run home run.

Kya Enos added another for the Black Bears with a solo shot in the top of the third inning. The lead was short-lived for Maine. In the bottom of the third, Idaho State regained an advantage on the scoreboard. A three run homerun, a two run double, an RBI single, a sacrifice, a steal of home plate, and an error added up to nine total runs for the Bengals. At the end of three, Maine trailed 11-4.

Idaho State walked-off the Black Bears with a solo shot in the bottom of the sixth inning, 12-4.

The Aggies posted a run in the bottom of the first inning. It was the product of an error committed by the Black Bears.

Utah State manufactured a run with a sacrifice bunt in the bottom of the third inning. The base running reached earlier on a walk.

The lead for the Aggies was extended in the bottom of the fourth. They pushed across five runs to snag a 7-0 lead.

In the top half of the six, Maine scored three runs.
Rebecca Findley recorded one run on a ground out before
Izzy Nieblas drove in two on a single. It was as close as the Black Bears would get as they fell, 7-3.
