A LOOK AT THE BLACK BEARS:
Maine will be looking to bounce back following a tough loss after holding a 16-point lead against UAlbany, 72-68.
Peter Filipovity has been the story of the past three games, as he has broken his career-high in scoring in his past three contests after dropping 10 in the win over NJIT and then 11 against UAlbany in the losing effort. He then dropped a new career-high 16 points in the loss at UMBC . He also added 16 rebounds and 7 steals over the course of the three contests.
Stephane Ingo has been a defensive anchor for the Black Bears since his return from injury, as his rebounds per game (6.2) ranks 3rd in America East and his blocks per game (2.5) ranks second in America East.
A LOOK AT VERMONT:
The Catamounts are coming off of a 62-61 victory over the UMass Lowell Riverhawks on Saturday, Feb. 26.
Ryan Davis (13 pts, 8 reb), Aaron Deloney (12 pts) and Ben Shungu (11 pts, 6 reb) led the Catamounts in their most recent win.
Ryan Davis has been the most productive member of the offense throughout the season for the Catamounts, as his 17.3 PPG leads his squad. His 5.7 rebounds per game also rank second on the team.
Ben Shungu has been the other key piece of the Catamounts winning ways, as his 15.9 PPG rank second on the squad. He also leads the team is steals with 33 steals in 29 games. His 4.5 rebounds per game rank 3rd on the team.
HISTORY AGAINST VERMONT:
This matchup marks the 148th meeting all-time between these two sides and the second of the 2021-22Â Â Â season. Vermont holds the all-time lead in the series, 77-70 and captured the win early on in the current season, 81-68, back on Jan. 29. Ryan Davis (21 pts, 4 reb) and Ben Shungu (19 pts, 3 reb) were the key pieces in the win for the Catamounts earlier this season.
