LYNCHBURG, Virginia - The Univeristy of Maine softball team falls short in double header with Liberty Univeirsty on Saturday afternoon by scores of 0-6 and 0-8.
 
Game #1 - Maine: 0 Liberty Univeristy: 6
 
The Liberty Flames got the bats going early as they scored their first run in the bottom of the first inning. From there, they would go on to score two runs in the bottom of the second as well as two more in the third. The Flames would grab their last run of the contest in the bottom of the sixth.
 
Maine would combine for four total hits, including two singles from 
Brianna Neely in the top of the first and third innings.
 
Notes:
 
Game #2 - Maine: 0 Liberty Univeirsty: 8
 
Liberty University would get the bats going after the first inning scoring all of their runs in the second, third, and fourth; including a two run homerun to give them their last two runs of the day and ending this one after only five innings.
 
Brianna Neely would tally two singles this game, bumping her total on the day to four.  
Gabby Papushka, 
Kelby Drews, and 
Keely Clark would each also grab a single of their own to give Maine their total five hits of the game.
 
Notes:
	- Alexandra Gruitch got the pitching start, going three complete innings. She ended with 78 total pitches, seven hits, and two strikeouts. Emily Reid entered for the final inning allowing only one hit.
 
Next: The Black Bears return to the diamond Friday, March 11th for a handful of games in St. George, Utah. The first game will be played at 5 pm ET/ 3 pm MT versus the University of Wisconsin.
