UMBC grabbed control of this contest early, as they found themselves out to a first half lead that grew all the way to 24 at halftime.

Jacob Boonyasith was the story of the first half, as he buried 6 of 7 shots for a game-high 16 points in the first half.

Maine was led by breakout player
Peter Filipovity, who knocked down an already career-high 14 points in just the first half.

Maine would come out in the second half finding their offensive rhythm, outscoring the Golden Retrievers 51 to 41 in the second half, but the first half lead by UMBC was enough to hold on to as UMBC picked up the win.

UMBC as 6 scorers reach double-digits, with L.J. Owens leading the charge at 20 points.
