Maine was led by breakout player Peter Filipovity, who knocked down an already career-high 14 points in just the first half.

Maine would come out in the second half finding their offensive rhythm, outscoring the Golden Retrievers 51 to 41 in the second half, but the first half lead by UMBC was enough to hold on to as UMBC picked up the win.
