BOSTON - America East announced Tuesday that University of Maine freshman Gabby Papushka has been named the league's Rookie of the Week after her first weekend in a Black Bear uniform.
 
The Whiterock, B.C., Canada native compiled a 1.020 OPS over five games, while slashing .267/.353/.667 with two home runs, five runs scored, and three RBI. This is the freshman's first conference award of the 2022 season.
 
The Black Bears will travel to Lynchburg, Virginia for the Liberty Classic this Friday and Saturday. First pitch against George Washington is set for Friday at 10:00 am.
