STATESBORO, Ga. -- The University of Maine softball team was defeated by North Dakota State, 8-2, in the final game of the five game Georgia swing.

The scoring for North Dakota State began in the bottom of the second inning. The Bison worked a walk and combined two singles with a double for three runs. They tacked on one more run in the bottom of the third.

UMaine pushed two runs across home with a rally in the top of the fourth inning.
Grace McGouldrick laid down a perfect sacrifice bunt.
Kya Enos touched home after the bunt.
Mariah Pearson ripped an RBI single, allowing
Gabby Papushka to score. NDSU matched the Black Bear runs with two of their own. After four complete, Maine trailed 6-2.

The Bison posted a run in the fifth and sixth inning. They were the final runs of the contest as Maine fell, 8-2.
