A LOOK AT THE BLACK BEARS:
The Black Bears head on the road to face off against the Hartford Hawks on Wednesday, Feb. 16.
Maks Klanjscek has been getting it done on both the offensive end and the Defensive end for the Black Bears as he is currently ranked 12th in America East conference play for scoring per game at 14.2. He is adding to his stellar conference play by ranking 6th in steals per game at 1.3. He also has the 8th best shooting percentage in the conference at 50.3% in conference games.
Ja'Shonté Wright-Mcleish has been another two-way factor for the Black Bears, as he ranks 21th in points per game at 10.8 and 13th in steals per game at 1.1 in conference games. Wright-Mcleish has also been one of the hardest working players in the conference this season, as he currently ranks 3rd in minutes played per conference game at 35.9 per game.
A LOOK AT NJIT:
NJIT is coming off of a big win over the UMass Lowell Riverhawks back on Wednesday, Feb 16, a 59-55 victory.
Diakite Souleymane (13 pts, 8 reb), Matt Faw (13 pts, 9 reb) Miles Coleman (10 pts, 8 reb) and Dylan O'Hearn (10 pts, 7 reb) were key to the win on Wednesday for the Highlanders.
Colemann is the team-leader in scoring, averaging 15.0 points per game, he also ranks 7th in conference scoring per game at 15.3. O'Hearn ranks second on his squad, averaging 12.6 per contest.
HISTORY AGAINST NJIT:
Sunday's matchup marks the 10th meeting all-time between these two squads and the second of the 2021-22 season. NJIT came away with the win in the first meeting this season back on Jan. 2, a 69-66 victory for the Highlanders. Miles Coleman lead the way for the Highlanders, pouring in 23 points on a 9-14 day from the field. Maine was led by Sam Ihekwoaba, who scored 18 points in the losing effort. Ja'Shonté Wright-Mcleish (13 pts) and Byron Ireland (11 pts) also played key roles for the Black Bears in the narrow defeat.
