The Black Bears head on the road to face off against the Hartford Hawks on Wednesday, Feb. 16.
Maks Klanjscek has been getting it done on both the offensive end and the Defensive end for the Black Bears as he is currently ranked 11th in America East conference play for scoring per game at 14.5. He is adding to his stellar conference play by ranking 9th in steals per game at 1.3. He also has the 6th best shooting percentage in the conference at 50.4% in conference games.
Ja'Shonté Wright-Mcleish has been another two-way factor for the Black Bears, as he ranks 20th in points per game at 10.8 and 11th in steals per game at 1.2 in conference games. Wright-Mcleish has also been one of the hardest working players in the conference this season, as he currently ranks 2nd in minutes played per conference game at 36.0 per game.
A LOOK AT HARTFORD:
The Hawks come into their matchup against the Black Bears off of a big win against previously undefeated in America East play Vermont, 75-74.
Austin Williams was the star of the night, scoring 34 points and addding in 8 rebounds and 6 assists. Moses Flwoers (18 pts) was also a key played in the victory.
Williams has been one of the premiere players in America East this season, as his 18.6 points per game leads the conference.
HISTORY AGAINST HARTFORD:
Wednesday night's matchup between these two squads will be the 76th all-time matchup and second of the 2021-22 season. Hartford won the first matchup this season back on Jan. 31 by a final score of 78-66. The Hawks also hold the all-time record at 45-30. Austin Williams (20 pts), Hunter Marks (16 pts), Moses Flowers (14 pts) and David Shriver (14 pts) led the way for Hartford in the win. Maine was led by its two leading scorers Vukasin Masic (18 pts) and Maks Klanjscek (23 pts) in the losing effort.
