PREVIEW: Men's Basketball Hosts Stony Brook

ORONO, ME - The University of Maine men's basketball team will play host to the Stony Brook Seawolves on Sunday, Feb. 13.

Sunday's game will be broadcast live on the ESPN 3. The game can also be heard worldwide on the Black Bears Sports Network and at goblackbears.com.

A LOOK AT THE BLACK BEARS:

The Black Bears play host to the Seawolves after picking up the victory at UAlbany back on Wednesday, 73-63.

Maks Klanjscek has been getting it done on both the offensive end and the Defensive end for the Black Bears as he is currently ranked 13th in America East conference play for scoring per game at 13.6. He is adding to his stellar conference play by ranking 5th in steals per game at 1.4. He also has the 7th best shooting percentage in the conference at 49.6% in conference games.

Ja'Shonté Wright-Mcleish has been another two-way factor for the Black Bears, as he ranks 19th in points per game at 11.1  and 13th in steals per game at 1.2 in conference games. Wright-Mcleish has also been one of the hardest working players in the conference this season, as he currently ranks 2nd in minutes played per conference game at 35.8 per game.

A LOOK AT STONY BROOK:

The Seawolves are coming off of a victory over UMass Lowell back on Wednesday, Feb. 9, 87-85. Anthony Roberts had a monster day as he dropped 28 points in the winning performance. Tykei Greene chipped in with an impressive 22 points in the win.

Anthony Roberts comes to Maine as the leading scorer for the Seawolves, as he is averaging 14.9 per contest this season. Jahlil Jenkins (13.4 ppg) and Greene (11.8 ppg) round out the top-3 for the Seawolves.

HISTORY AGAINST STONY BROOK:

Sunday's matchup will be the 42nd matchup all-time between these two squads and the second of the 2021-22 season. Stony Brook came away with the victory in the first go around back on Jan. 8, a 80-72 victory over the Black Bears. Sam Ihekwoaba dropped a career high 22-points in the matchup for the Black Bears. Ja'Shonté Wright-Mcleish chipped in with 15 in the losing effort. The Seawolves had 5 players score double-digits, with Tykei Greene and Elijah Olaniyi scoring 16 a-piece.
