PREVIEW: Men's Basketball Looks to Keep Win-Streak Going as they Travel to Brown University

Maine is off to their best start since the 2003-04 season

HISTORY:

This will be the 18th meeting all-time between these two programs, with their last matchup coming in 2018-19. Brown holds the all-time record over the Black Bears, 7-10.

ABOUT THE BLACK BEARS:

The University of Maine men's basketball team continued their winning streak as they took down the Blue Devils of Central Connecticut State University on Wednesday, Nov. 23, 66-58.

Kellen Tynes was clutch down the stretch for the Black Bears as he topped his career-high in points with his team leading 23 on the night. He swiped five steals in the win as well.

Gedi Juozapaitis chimed in with a career-high 22 points on 9 of 12 shooting from the field. He buried four three-pointers and racked up a career-high four steals in the win.

Maine has been one of the most efficient offensives in the country in the early going, as their 58.3 Effective FG% ranks 21st in the country while their FG% of 51.7 ranks 10th.

The Black Bears are also one of the toughest defensives in terms of stealing the ball as their 10.4 steals per game ranks 23rd in the country.

Maine also cracks into the top 100 in assist-to-turnover ratio (59th), scoring margin (61st), blocks per game (67th), scoring defense (70th), fewest turnovers per game (78th) and assists per game (79th).

ABOUT BROWN:

Brown is coming off of a loss against fellow America East member, UMass Lowell, on Wednesday, Nov. 23, 62-73.

Brown has been led offensively on the season by Kino Lilly Jr., who comes into the matchup against the Black Bears averaging 14.2 points per game.

Nana Owusu-Anane and Paxson Wojcik have been getting it done on the boards all-season for the Brown Bears, as they ranked first and second on the team in rebounds per game at 8.0 and 7.2, respectively.

Wojcik and Owusu-Anane find themselves ranking second and third on the Brown University squad in points per game as well, as Wojcik is averaging 12.2 and Owuse-Anane is at 11.4, rounding out the top-three scorers for the Brown Bears.
