Black Bears will hold six home games in their non-conference schedule
Orono, Maine -- The University of Maine men's basketball program has announced their 2026-27 non-conference schedule. The Black Bears will play 16 games, which includes six home games to all be played on Skip Chappelle Court at Memorial Gym.
The Black Bears open up the season with a two-game road trip, beginning on Monday, Nov. 2 with a trip to Providence. This will be the Black Bears first match up against the Friars since the 2016-17 season.
Maine will then begin their America East-MAAC Challenge on the road at Sacred Heart on Thursday, Nov. 5 before returning to Orono on Sunday, Nov. 8 to host Manhattan. It will be the Black Bears first contest in program history against Manhattan.
After heading to take on the University of Rhode Island on Tuesday, Nov. 11, the Black Bears return to Orono to take on Drexel on Saturday, Nov. 14.
The Black Bears begin a five-game road trip on Nov. 19 as they travel to Quinnipiac, UMass on Nov. 21 and then compete in the Lafayette Classic from Nov. 27-29. Niagara and Le Moyne are also set to compete in the Tournament. Which teams are set to compete on which day will be announced at a later date.
Maine returns to Orono for four of their last six games in the non-conference schedule, starting with a contest against UMaine-Augusta on Tuesday, Dec. 1. The Black Bears then play host to Stony Brook on Saturday, Dec. 5.
After a trip to DePaul on Dec. 8, the Black Bears host Boston University on Saturday, Dec. 12 and Merrimack on Monday, Dec. 21. The Black Bears defeated Boston University last season, 69-59.
The non-conference schedule concludes on Dec. 29 as the Black Bears head to Brown.
