Lambert and Mackesy Score Four Each as Field Hockey Picks up Win over Merrimack, 13-0

Madisyn Hartley Sets Program Record with Five Assists in a Single Game

Orono, ME – The University of Maine field hockey team kept their win-streak going as they defeated the Warriors of Merrimack College on Sunday afternoon, 13-0.
 
The Black Bears were in control in the contest from start to finish as Maine jumped out to an early 1-0 lead as Poppy Lambert scored her eighth goal of the year to get Maine out in front. Madisyn Hartley (6) and Tereza Holubcova (5) picked up the assists.
 
Maine would start pouring in goals in bunches at 11:24 into the first as Mallory Mackesy scored her sixth of the season. Madisyn Hartley (7) picked up the assist on the score.
 
Bhreagh Kennedy would get on the board with her third goal of the season with 18 seconds left in the opening quarter. Sydney Meader (4) picked up the assist on the score.
 
Mallory Mackesy would score her second goal of the contest early in the second quarter on a penalty corner chance by the Black Bears. Kristjana Walker (1) and Tereza Holubcova (6) picked up the assists on the score.
 
Poppy Lambert scored her second of the contest on a penalty corner less than two minutes after Mackesy's second of the contest. Madisyn Hartley (8) and Tereza Holubcova (7) picked up the assists on the score.
 
Poppy Lambert would complete the hat-trick at the 25:33 mark in the contest as she scored her third goal of the contest. Madisyn Hartley (9) and Julia Ross (4) picked up the assists on the penalty corner score.
 
Mallory Mackesy would join Lambert with a first-half hat-trick as she scored her third of the contest in unassisted fashion at the 27:38 mark in the contest.
 
The Black Bears would waste little time in the second half before getting back into the scoring column as Chloe Walton scored her third goal of the season. Mallory Mackesy (2) picked up the assist on the score.
 
Poppy Lambert would keep her incredible day going as she netted her fourth goal of the contest, giving her 11 on the season. Kristjana Walker (2) and Julia Ross (5) picked up the assists on the score.
 
Chloe Walton would make it a multi-goal performance as she scored her fourth of the season in unassisted fashion.
 
Tereza Holubcova would wrap up the scoring in the third period as she scored her first goal of the season at the 43:44 mark. Mallory Mackesy (3) picked up the assist on the score.
 
Mallory Mackesy would conclude her massive day as she scored her fourth goal of the contest at the 53:38 mark in the game. The score was her ninth goal of the season. Madisyn Hartley (10) and Taylor Stanford (1) picked up the assists on the score.
 
Taylor Katsube would wrap up the scoring in the contest as she scored her first collegiate goal at 56:16. The score was unassisted.
 
Madisyn Hartley set a new program record in the contest with five assists in a single game.
 
Mia Borley and Mallory Drayer combined for a shutout in the contest, with each registering 30 minutes in the contest.
 
Maine (8-3, 3-0 AE) stays at home as California comes to town on Friday, Oct. 7. That game is scheduled to begin at 3:00 P.M.
