Box Score BANGOR, ME -- The University of Maine men's basketball team fell to the Bearcats of Binghamton on Sunday afternoon, 73-65.

The Black Bears got out to an early lead off of a layup by Adefolalrin Adetogun (2pts, 7reb). Binghamton would anwser with a 3pt field goal by John McGriff, and they Bearcats would not lose their first half lead for the rest of the period.

Christian Hinckson would give the Bearcats their biggest lead of the contest, a 9-point lead off of his made free throw coming off of and 1.

The Black Bears would find themselves in a 11-2 run over the next 3 minutes, capped off by a 3pt field goal by Maks Klanjscek, bringing the first half lead by the Bearcats back to a tied contest.

Binghamton would head into the half with a 5-point lead. McGriff did most of his damage in the first half, scoring 15 of his 18 points. The Black Bears had two players at 8-points, Kristians Feierbergs and Peter Filipovity.

The Black Bears would regain the lead at 11:07 left in the second half as Sam Ihekwoaba netted a 3pt field goal to get his squad up 1.

Following a back forth of lead changes, Maine stretched their lead to a game-high 3 following a Filipovity layup.

The Bearcats would regain the late lead and not lose it, ending the game on a 9-1 run.

Binghamton was led by Jacob Falko, who scored a game high 22 points, while also grabbing 5 rebounds and dishing out 3 assists.

Maine was led by a balanced attack of offense, having 7 players score 8 or more points. Ihekwoaba led the team with 13 points.

The Black Bears are back in action on Wednesday, Jan. 19 as they head to UMass Lowell for a conference matchup.
