BALTIMORE -- The University of Maine softball team was defeated by the UMBC Retrievers by a score of 0-3 on Sunday afternoon.
 
Maine: 0 UMBC: 3
 
With two outs in the bottom of the first inning, UMBC lined a two-run home run. Maine trailed by two runs early in the series finale in Baltimore.
 
The Retrievers pushed across another run in the bottom of the fourth inning with an RBI double. After four complete, the Black Bears trailed by three. It would also be the final score of the game as Maine dropped the series finale.
 
Notes:

• Kyleigh O'Donnell (9-6) went the distance for the Black Bears. The senior allowed three earned runs and struck out two.
• Jasmine Gray and Izzy Nieblas recorded the two hits.

Next: The Black Bears will return home next week and host the University of Albany. Game number one of the weekend is set for Friday, May 7th at 3:00 pm.
