Women's Track & Field Notch Pair of Top-Five Finishes at America East Outdoor Championships

Lowell, Mass. -- The University of Maine women's track & field team notched a pair of top-five finishes and stand tied with Hartford seventh with 10 points after day one of the 2021 America East Outdoor Track & Field Championships.

Julia Feid had the top finish of the day for the Black Bears as she placed third in the javelin with a throw of 40.53m. Kendall Willard added a fifth place finish in the event at 38.12m.

Claire Ittleson was Maine's top finisher in the pole vault, clearing 2.95m for 11th place. Oliviah Damboise added a 12th place mark in the event, also at 2.95m.

Anna Schumann finished 12th in the long jump with a leap of 5.24m.

After one day of competition, Katherine Cowan stands in third place in the heptathlon with 2,830 points.

The Black Bears conclude the 2021 America East Outdoor Championships on Sunday at UMass Lowell.
