LOWELL, Mass. - The Maine Black Bears baseball team fell in a pair of contests at Lowell on Saturday, falling on a walkoff sacrifice fly in game one followed by a 9-4 defeat in the nightcap.

Game one saw Nicholas Sinacola post another double-digit strikeout effort, as he struck out ten while allowing four hits and two runs (one earned). The one earned run came in the bottom of the seventh, as UMass-Lowell loaded the bases in a tie game before driving home the winning run on a sacrifice fly to deep center field. 

Game two was a less exciting affair, as the Maine pitching staff surrendered four home runs and twelve hits in a 9-4 Riverhawks victory.

Maine's offense went cold for another weekend, with the Black Bear Nine recording just eleven hits between the two games. Scout Knotts homered in game two, his third of the year, and Connor Goodman drove in a pair of runs in the second game as well to round out the offensive highlights.

The Black Bears fall to 8-9 in the America East after the 1-3 weekend in Massachusetts. They'll try to right the ship in Albany next weekend, another set of doubleheaders slated for this Saturday and Sunday.
