Four Black Bears Earn All-CAA Honors

Miller, Stevens named to All-CAA First Team

Orono, Maine -- Four Black Bears have earned All-Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) accolades for the 2021 spring season, as announced by the league on April 21. Wide receiver Andre Miller and linebacker Deshawn Stevens each earned spots on the All-CAA First Team while quarterback Joe Fagnano and specialist Bryce Colee were selected to the All-CAA Second Team.

Miller earns his first All-CAA honor after registering a team-high 21 receptions for 348 yards and six touchdowns in four games. Miller, who averaged 87.0 receiving yards per game and 16.6 yards per reception, led the CAA at 5.25 receptions per game and was also the league's top-ranked threat in receiving yards per game. Miller's six touchdowns were tied for the most for receivers in the league. The senior posted back-to-back eight reception performances, against UAlbany and at Stony Brook, hauling in three touchdowns in each of those two performances. Miller went over 100 yards receiving in both games, including a career-high 144 yards against the Great Danes.

Stevens earns his first All-CAA First Team honor after being selected to the All-CAA Second Team in 2018. The senior linebacker led the Black Bears with 36 total tackles in the four-game spring season, averaging 9.0 stops per game. Stevens checked in second among league leaders in tackles per game, posting double-digit tackle totals in two of Maine's four outings. Stevens led the Black Bears with 12 stops against UAlbany and ranked second on the team in total tackles in each of the three other games, including making 10 stops in the season opener at Delaware.

Fagnano has been named to his first All-CAA team of his career after posting impressive numbers in Maine's four game spring season. The sophomore quarterback finished the abbreviated season 67-of-116 for 795 yards and eight touchdowns while tossing just one interception. Fagnano led the CAA at 198.8 passing yards per game while posting a 57.8 completion percentage and checking in third in the CAA at 213.5 total yards of offense per game and second in total offensive touchdowns (10) with eight passing and a pair of rushing scores. His eight passing touchdowns checked in second best in the league, only trailing Delaware's Nolan Henderson who played one more game than Fagnano during the regular season.

Colee, who earned his first All-CAA honor, spearheaded Maine's special teams unit as the long snapper for the punt and field goal team. Colee has made 40 consecutive starts for Maine, the most starts of any active Black Bear, and has missed only one snap in his four years at Maine. The senior made one tackle on special teams during the spring season.
