VISTAL, N.Y. -- The University of Maine softball team split an afternoon doubleheader with Binghamton University by scores of 6-0 and 3-5 on Saturday afternoon.

Game One - Maine: 6 Binghamton: 0

In the bottom of the second inning,
Jasmine Gray hit her fifth home run of the season. The sophomore crushed a ball that went over the left field fence for Maine's first run of the afternoon.

Izzy Nieblas added to the Maine lead with a two-run double to right field.
Emma Larke and
Kya Enos come around the score on the two-bagger. Gray stayed hot and followed Nieblas' double with one of her own.
Keely Clark hit another double that brought Gray around the bases. After the doubles, the Black Bears held a 5-0 lead through their half of the third inning.

The Black Bears added one more run in its final ups to win the first game of the day by a score of 6-0.

Notes:
- Kyleigh O'Donnell went the distance for the Black Bears. The senior struck out 6 while allowing no runs.
- Jasmine Gray recorded two hits and a homerun. Kya Enos also finished the game with two hits.
Game Two - Maine: 3 Binghamton: 5

Keely Clark singled to right field in the top of the second inning giving Maine their first hit.

In the fourth inning, Maine began to go on a run.
Jasmine Gray singled to right field, Clark recorded another single, and
Mariah Pearson also tallied a single in the hole to load the bases.
Amanda Nee then hit a triple with a shot to right field bringing in all three runners making the score 3-0.

The hustle of Maine however could not answer in this one with Binghamton lining a home run in the fourth along while scoring three runs in the 5th to make the final score 5-3.

Next: The two squads will return to the field tomorrow, Sunday, April 18th to conclude the America East series. First pitch is scheduled for 11:00 am.
