STORRS, Connecticut -- The University of Maine women's ice hockey team was defeated by the UConn Huskies, 3-0, on Friday Afternoon in Mark Edwards Freitas Ice Forum.

First Goal (1-0 UConn): Natalie Snodgrass scored a goal halfway through the second period for the Huskies. The forward took advantage of a great pass by Viki Harkness. The puck move shifted Porter off of her line and gave Snodgrass an open net.

Second Goal (2-0 UConn): Danika Pasqua added a goal with just over five minutes left in the Hockey East contest. Â

Third Goal (3-0 UConn): With 00:20 left in the afternoon match-up, Jada Habisch found the back of an empty Maine net. The 3-0 lead would stand as Maine dropped the afternoon battle.

Notes: Loryn Porter stopped 41 shots for the Black Bears, while Sam Carpentier-Yelle tallied 29 saves for UConn.

Maine went 0 for 2 on their power play opportunities, as the Huskies were 0-2 on its player advantages.

The Black Bears blocked 10 shots as a team.
