ORONO - The University of Maine was picked to finish second in the annual preseason poll released by the America East on Wednesday afternoon.

Maine, who finished 4-1 in the conference during the 2019 regular season on their way to the America East Semifinals where they bowed out to eventual-champion Stanford in a shootout thriller. 

The Black Bears return the reigning America East Defensive Player of the Year in senior Cassandra Mascarenhas, junior goalie Mia Borley, and a class of 14 upperclassmen.

Maine is scheduled to open their America East season on March 19th at UMass-Lowell, with all dates subject to change.
