Orono, Maine -- The University of Maine men's basketball team will host Merrimack College on Tuesday at 5 p.m. at the Cross Insurance Center in its final non-conference home game of the season. The Black Bears are 1-0 all-time against Merrimack after defeating the Warriors, 84-64 in 2019.

A LOOK AT THE BLACK BEARS:
The Black Bears are looking to make it two in a row as they are coming off of a 86-50 win over the UNE Nor'Easters.The Black Bears are ranked 40th in the nation in steals forced, registering 9.2 steals per game. This ranks them first in America East. As a result of the high steal numbers, Maine also finds themselves 69th in the nation in turnovers forced per game, coming into their matchup against Merrimack with a 15.8 turnovers forced per game. That number also ranks them 2nd in America East. The Black Bears also find themselves as one of the more disciplined teams as they have committed the 46th fewest fouls in the country (151), which places them 3th in America East. The Black Bears are led by
Vukasin Masic who enters averaging 9.2 points and a team-high 3.7 assists. Masic recently recorded a double-double with 11 points and a career-high 10 assists against UNE.
LeChaun DuHart is adding 7.2 points with double-figures in two of his last three outings.
A LOOK AT MERRIMACK
Merrimack makes the trip to the Cross Insurance Center looking to snap a five-game losing streak, dating back to Nov. 28. The Warriors fell at Indiana, 81-49, in their latest outing. Jordan Minor registered a team-high 13 points and 4 rebounds in the loss. Ziggy Reid (11pts, 2a) and Malik Edmead (11 pts, 4a) also chipped in for the Warriors. Minor enters the game leading the Warriors in both scoring (14.3) and rebounding (6.5).
HISTORY AGAINST MERRIMACK
The Black Bears meet Merrimack for the second time in history. Maine is 1-0 against the Warriors, scoring an 84-64 victory in the 2019 season opener on Nov. 6, 2019. This will be the second straight meeting in Maine as the Black Bears have never played a game at Merrimack. Ja'Shonte Wright-McLeish was the only current Black Bear to appear in the 2019 contest as she registered one rebound in three minutes of action.
