LeChaun DuHart led Maine with 11 points as the Black Bears fell at Quinnipiac, 73-47. Maine, which trailed by just two at the break, was outscored 44-20 in the second half.
DuHart finished the a season-high three triples leading to his team-high 11 points on the afternoon.
Maks Klanjscek chipped in nine points and three boards, while
Vukasin Masic added seven points, five rebounds, four assists, and three steals.
The Black Bears, who shot 43.5 percent in the first half, finished the game 17-of-51 (33.3). The Bobcats went 16-of-30 in the second half from the floor while outrebounding Maine 40-26 in the contest. Quinnipiac's Kevin Marfo led all scorers with 21 points and 13 rebounds.
Maine, trailing by a pair with 10:14 left in the first half, went to work on offense as the Black Bears were able to stage an 11-0 run. Masic began the stretch by knocking down a triple, giving Maine a one point edge.
Chris Efretuei capitalized for two off a Quinnipiac turnover before back-to-back triples from DuHart gave Maine its largest lead of the game, 21-12.
The Bobcats would answer, closing the first half on a 9-2 run to carry a 29-27 lead into the break.
Quinnipiac kept rolling as the hosts opened the second half with a 13-4 run, stretching its lead out to 42-31 with with 16:14 on the clock.
Another three from DuHart, his third of the day, cut the lead back down to single digits, 45-36.
The Bobcats would open the lead up to 17 before Maine answered with another run. A 5-0 stretch by the Black Bears, capped on a triple from Fofo Adetogun, brought Maine to within 12.
However, it would be as close as the Black Bears would get as Quinnipiac closed out the win, 73-47.
