Orono, Maine -- The Black Bears return to the road as they travel to take on Bradley on Saturday afternoon at 3 p.m. in the first meeting between the two teams since 1993.
Saturday's game will be broadcast live on
ESPN3. The game can also be heard worldwide on the
Black Bear Sports Network and locally in Maine on 92.9
FM.
A LOOK AT THE BLACK BEARS:
The Black Bears head to Illinois coming off of a loss against the Central Connecticut Blue Devlis, 64-56 at the Cross Insurance Center. Maine stands at a 2-1 home record to begin the year.
The Black Bears have been one of the most efficient teams at converting their free throws on the season, as they come in ranked 84th in the country and 2nd in America East with a 74.1% at the line. Maine has been the best in America East with stealing the ball, averaging 9 steals a game, which also ranks them 64th in the country. As a result of the high amount of steals, the Black Bears find themselves ranked 73rd in the country in turnovers forced, along with being ranked 2nd in America East.
A LOOK AT BRADLEY:
Bradley comes in on a three-game losing streak, with their most recent contest being a 78-70 loss against Duquesne. They were led by the scoring of Terry Roberts (17), Henry Ja'Shon (14) and Connor Hickman (14). Ja'Shon also paced his team with 11 rebounds. Mikey Howell dished out 4 assists in the contest.
SERIES WITH BRADLEY:
Maine and Bradley meet for the third time in history, and the first since 1993. Maine won the first-ever meeting in the series, 56-54, back on Nov. 23, 1992 in Orono. The two teams met in the season opener a year later, with Bradley scoring the win on its home court, 71-60, on Nov. 27, 1993."
