STORRS, CONN. – The Unviersity of Maine women's ice hockey team came away with a tied matchup against the Huskies, a 4-4 final. Maine would win in a shootout, 1-0.

FIRST GOAL (1-0 UConn) – UConn got the scoring going early at Claire Peterson netted her second goal of the season. Alex Anne Boyer (3) picked up an assist on the power play score.

SECOND GOAL (1-1) – Maine would come back with a quick answer as just 2:11 later,
Ida Kuoppala fired home her second of the season. Following a shot from
Bailey Oakes (1) off of an
Ali Beltz (4) feed, a loss puck in front of the net came right to the stick of Kuoppala who fired home the power play shot.

THIRD GOAL (2-1 Maine) –Â
Ida Press would keep the Maine power play rolling as her first goal of the season would bring the Black Bears to a 2 for 2 start on the power play. Her blue line slap shot came off of a feed from
Elise Morphy (4) and
Ali Beltz (5).

FOURTH GOAL (3-1 Maine) – Following a takeaway by
Ida Kuoppala (6),
Maddie Giordano crashed the net and powered through the goaltender to score her third of the season and increase the Black Bears lead.

FIFTH GOAL (3-2 Maine) – Summar-Rae Dobson scored her fourth goal of the season to get the Huskies one goal closer to the Maine. Her power play score was UConn's second power play goal of the game as  Taylor Wabick (10) and Morgan Wabick (6) picked up the assists.

SIXTH GOAL (3-3 Maine) – Taylor Wabick would chip in with another point, this time a goal to get the Huskies into a tied contest just 41 seconds into the third period. UConn's third power play goal was set up by the passes off of Morgan Wabick (7) and Summar-Rae Dobson 's(3) sticks.

SEVENTH GOAL (4-3 Maine) – Ali Beltz would answer and net her second goal of the season on some crisp passes by the Black Bears. Her one timer shot came front in front of the Huskies Goalkeeper as
Alyssa Wruble (1) and
Ida Kuoppala (7) set up the scoring play.

EIGHTH GOAL (4-4) – Danielle Fox fired home her fifth of the season in the closing moments of the third period to tie up the contest for the Huskies. Viki Harkness (6) and Ainsley Svetek (5) picked up the assists.

The game would go into overtime, where it would end in a 4-4 tie.

With new conference rules, the game would enter a shootout, where Maine would take the victory, 1-0 in three rounds.
Rahel Enzler netted the lone shootout goal for the Black Bears and
Loryn Porter stopped all 3 shots she faced in the shootout.

Porter would finish the night with 47 saves in the contest.
Â
Maine (4-8-1, 2-5-1) will be heading back to Alfond Arena as they host Boston University of Friday, Nov. 19 and Providence on Sunday, Nov. 21.
