- Maine looks for its second consecutive win at Alfond Stadium when it hosts Elon for the first time since 2018 and the third time in the all-time history between the two programs. A win for Maine would be the Black Bears' eighth home win in the month of October in their last nine outings.
- Maine and Elon will meet for the fifth time in history. The Black Bears enter with a 3-1 advantage in the all-time series and have won each of the past two meetings between the two programs. Maine is 1-1 at home against the Phoenix, including a 27-26 victory in Elon's most recent visit to Orono in a win which clinched the 2018 outright CAA title for the Black Bears. Maine captured the most recent meeting, a 31-17 triumph at Elon. In that win, Maine jumped out to a 28-0 lead in the first quarter on three first quarter touchdown passes from Joe Fagnano. Maine, which outgained Elon 215-6 in the first quarter, registered six sacks in the win as Adrian Otero led the Black Bears with a game-high 11tackles. Two of the last three meetings between Maine and Elon have been decided by five or fewer points.
- Maine has been efficient once entering the red zone, ranking fourth among CAA leaders with an 85.7-percent rating inside the red zone.
- Offensively, Maine has began to see success from its run game as the Black Bears have produced back-to-back single game season-high efforts in rushing (124, 125 yards). Freddie Brock is averaging 4.7 yards per carry with a pair of rushing touchdowns and one receiving score, in his last two outings.
- After forcing no turnovers in the first two outings, Maine's defense has forced six turnovers in each of its last two games. Maine forced four turnovers in its win over Merrimack, its most turnovers in a single game since registering four interceptions in 2018 at Weber State.
- Elon is coming off a 20-7 win on the road over #22 Richmond. Elon's defense came up big in the win, holding Richmond scoreless on its final three possessions, despite the Spiders driving inside the Elon 10-yard line on all three of its final possessions. Cole Coleman was named the CAA Defensive Player of the Week after tallying eight tackles, one for loss, and a pass break-up. Elon quarterback Davis Cheek leads the CAA in total offense (310.5) as he is averaging a league-best 297.5 passing yards per game for the CAA's second-ranked passing offense.
