ORONO, Maine -- The University of Maine women's soccer team tied the Hartford Hawks, 1-1, on Sunday morning at the Mahaney Diamond.

Pre-game, the Black Bears honored their 11 seniors -

First Goal (1-0 Maine): Emma Donovan and
Abby Kraemer combined to score the first goal of the day. Donovan was carrying the ball through the middle of the field. The senior spotted her streaking teammate. The younger Kraemer collected herself and calmly gave Maine a very early 1-0 lead.

Second Goal (1-1): After switching sides at the half, Hartford had the wind at their back. Saige Bingham took advantage of the strong gusts and evened the game for her club. The forward's strike came from beyond the 18-yard box. With 20 minutes left, the America East contest was tied at one goal apiece.

The America East rivals battled to two scoreless overtime periods. Led by the 11 seniors, Maine snagged a tie in the final regular season game at Mahaney Diamond of the 2021 season.

Maine recorded 19 total shots on goal to Hartford's 15, while the Black Bears recorded three corner kicks.

Abby Kraemer tallied her fourth goal of the season.
Emma Donovan was credited with her first assist.

Kira Kutzinski turned away eight shots during the final regular season home contest.
