Box Score ORONO, Maine – The University of Maine women's hockey team tied with the Friars of Providence College, 2-2.

The first period had three goals finding the back of the net, two by the Friars and one by the Black Bears.

Liga Miljone got the scoring going first, as she netted her ninth goal of the season with a five-hole shot on Friars goaltender Sandra Abstreiter.
Ella MacLean (10) and
Ida Kuoppala (10) picked up assists on the play.

Providence would answer back as Isabella Hardy scored the tying goal, bringing the score back to 1-1. Hayley Lunny and Avery Fransoo picked up the assists on the play.

With 23 seconds remaining, Neve Fan Pelt put the Friars up 2-1 as she scored the go-ahead goal. Meaghan Rickard picked up the assist on the play.

The second found the Black Bears tying the game back up at 2-2.

Celine Tedenby scored her 10
th goal of the season on a backhanded shot in front of the goal that found its way into the back of the net.

Ella MacLean (11) picked up the assists on the power play goal.

The third period found both teams locked in a scoreless period, as both Jackson and Abstreiter were perfect in the period.

Overtime would have the two teams ending in a 2-2 tie.

Abstreiter finished with 23 saves for Providence.
Carly Jackson finished with a 33-save performance in the tie.

Maine (11-12-7 7-10-6 HEAW) will be back in action on Saturday, February 8 at 2:00 P.M. as they wrap up the regular season series against the Friars of Providence College.
