Former Black Bear Pat Ricard Earns Second Consecutive Pro Bowl Selection

Ricard named to AFC Pro Bowl roster for second-straight season

Orono, Maine -- For the second consecutive season, former Black Bear and All-CAA honoree Pat Ricard has been named to the AFC Pro Bowl roster, as announced by the National Football League (NFL) on Monday, Dec. 21.

Ricard, a fullback and defensive lineman for the Baltimore Ravens, joins Montell Owens as the only Black Bears to earn two Pro Bowl selections. Ricard and Owens are also the only Black Bears to ever be named to a Pro Bowl roster.

This season, Ricard, a two-way player, has appeared in 13 games with eight starts. Ricard has registered nine receptions for 45 yards and one touchdown. On Dec. 3, 2019, Ricard signed a two-year contract extension with the Ravens. Ricard is currently in his fourth season with Baltimore.

While at UMaine, Ricard played 44 games and was a constant force on the defensive line. Nearly a quarter of Ricard's 208 total tackles were for a loss. He ended his career at Maine with 47.5 tackles-for-loss, 18.0 sacks, 11 pass deflections, three forced fumbles, one fumble recovery and a pair of blocked kicks.
