Award is given out by the Gridiron Club

Orono, Maine – The Gridiron Club of Greater Boston announced that Carter Peevy of the University of Maine football program was one of three recipients of the 79th annual Swede Neslon Award, which is given out to individuals who showcase excellent sportsmanship, academics and athletic achievement in any of the New England Area FBS or FCS programs.

Peevy, a graduate student from Lawrenceville, GA., just concluded his final year at Maine, where he threw for 2,238 yards and 17 touchdowns, along with rushing for 313 yards and scoring nine rushing touchdowns. He also served as one of two team captains for the 2025 season.

In the classroom and community, Peevy has maintained a 3.959 GPA while pursuing his MBA. He has volunteered with his fellow teammates at Dirigo Pines, has worked with Team Impact and was a part of the Make-A-Wish event the Black Bears held earlier in the season for Zachary Ellis.

Peevy joins Boston College defensive lineman Edwin Kolenge and Springfield cornerback Tyler Pohlman as the three recipients of the award.
