WEST HARTFORD, CONN. - The University of Maine men's basketball team fell to 0-2 on the 2020-21 season on Sunday afternoon, falling to Hartford in America East play by a 65-50 final score.
Maine's shooting stroke showed signs of rust in this one, as the team posted a 37.5/38.9/56.5 shooting split on the day. The Hawks were helped along by a 48-point contribution from their bench along with a 37-25 advantage on the boards.
- Senior Vilgot Larsson was the only double-digit scorer for the Black Bears, recording 11 points on a 4-8 day from the field (2-3 3PT) with five rebounds and a pair of blocks.
- Stephane Ingo recorded six points and a block, extending his streak of games with a block to 13 straight games.
- Maine again saw a dramatic increase in their shooting percentages after the halftime break, as their 28.6% (6-21) first half mark improved to 47.4% (9-19) in the second half.
Next up for Maine is a trip to Chestnut Hill to take on ACC-foe Boston College on Tuesday. A start time has yet to be announced, and the game will be broadcast on the ACC Network.
