Maine downed by Boston College in afternoon rendezvous

CHESTNUT HILL, MASS. - The University of Maine men's basketball team fell to 0-3 on the young 2020-21 season on Tuesday afternoon, dropping a mid-week matinee to  ACC-foe Boston College by a 78-62 final score.

Maine came out with great energy, led by first-year transfer LeChaun DuHart. The product of Western Wyoming started the game on a torrid pace, going 5-6 from three-point territory on his way to 15 of Maine's 24 first-half points. Boston College closed the half on a 12-2 run to build a 19-point halftime advantage that would carry them easily through the final buzzer and the 78-62 win.

  • As mentioned, DuHart was the only significant source of offense from Maine for most of the game. He finished with a game-high 19 points on 6-12 shooting, 5-11 from three. He also recorded a pair of steals.
  • Stephane Ingo played a slightly reduced 21-minutes, primarily in the second half. He finished with 15 points, six rebounds, a block, and a steal.
  • The team of two halves continued, as Maine shot 33.3% from the field in the first half before buoying their percentage to 48.3% in the second.

Maine will return to action after the holiday break, with a home series against New Hampshire scheduled for January 2nd and 3rd.
