Providence, R.I. - The University of Maine women's ice hockey team was defeated by the Providence College Friars, 4-0, on Friday afternoon in the Schneider Arena.

First Goal (1-0 Providence): The Friars scored the first goal of the game on the breakaway and short handed. With 12:50 remaining in the opening period, Annelise Rice beat
Loryn Porter to give her squad an early one goal advantage.

Second Goal (2-0 Providence): Rice was not done scoring in the first period. The forward scored again for her Friars. This time, the goal came on the power play.

Third Goal (3-0 Providence): Isabella Hardy added another goal for the Friars in the first period. Brooke Becker and Sara Hjalmarsson were each credited with an assist.

Fourth Goal (4-0 Providence): Brooke Becker scored the final goal of the game with three minutes left in the third period. It was her second point of the evening.

Notes: Loryn Porter finished with 37 saves, while Sandra Abstreiter tallied 23 for Providence.

Maine went 0-5 on the power play, as the Friars were 1-4 on their player advantages.
