CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - The University of Maine field hockey team suffered their third straight loss on Sunday afternoon, falling to the No. 14 ranked Harvard Crimson by a 4-1 final score.
Harvard broke things open with a goal early on, but junior
Cassandra Mascarenhas answered back with a successful penalty stroke two minutes later to even things at 1-1. Things stayed quiet up until nearly the end of the third quarter, when Harvard took the lead off rebound put-back goal to take the 2-1 advantage. The Black Bears pulled
Mia Borley from goal with around five minutes remaining, but the Crimson pounced a mere thirty seconds later for the empty net goal. For good measure, Harvard added another goal with around 90 seconds left to punctuate the 4-1 victory.
