Nick Charlton has announced the addition of defensive back
Donovan Bunch. Bunch, a 5-11, 170-pound, three-star recruit, will become immediately eligible to compete for the Black Bears as a freshman in the fall of 2019.

Bunch, who received offers from 10 Power 5 schools, including Boston College, Duke, Georgia Tech, Maryland, N.C. State, Pittsburgh, Rutgers, Syracuse, Virginia and West Virginia, was ranked as the No. 20 overall high school football player in the state of New Jersey by 247Sports in December of 2018.

"I am very excited to welcome Donovan to the Black Bear family," Charlton said. "Donovan is an exceptional person and player that will be a great addition to our team."
As a senior in 2018, Bunch tallied 32 tackles to go along with six interceptions of which he returned for an average of 40.2 yards. Bunch recorded two pass breakups, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery. An elite, two-way player, Bunch also registered 34 receptions for 738 yards and seven touchdowns.
