Ricard Named to Sixth Pro Bowl

Orono, Maine -- For the sixth time in his career, former Black Bear and All-CAA honoree Patrick Ricard has been selected to the AFC Pro Bowl Games roster, as announced by the National Football League on Tuesday, Dec. 23.

Ricard, selected to the Pro Bowl roster as a fullback, becomes the only Black Bear to be named to the Pro Bowl on six occasions. Fellow former Black Bear Montell Owens earned two Pro Bowl selections during his NFL tenure.

This season, Ricard, has appeared in seven games while rushing for three yards after returning from an injury he suffered early in the preseason. Ricard has played a pivotal role in the run game where he has assisted in paving the way for Derrick Henry who has amassed 634 yards and six touchdowns in games that Ricard has played in. Ricard, currently in his eighth season with the Baltimore Ravens, has appeared in 127 games with 63 starts during his career while accounting for 47 receptions for 301 yards and seven touchdowns.

While at UMaine, Ricard played 44 games and was a constant force on the defensive line. Nearly a quarter of Ricard's 208 total tackles were for a loss. He ended his career at Maine with 47.5 tackles-for-loss, 18.0 sacks, 11 pass deflections, three forced fumbles, one fumble recovery and a pair of blocked kicks.
