BALTIMORE -- The University of Maine softball team dropped the final game of the weekend, 4-0, to the University of Maryland, Baltimore Country Retrievers on Sunday afternoon.

UMBC scored the first run of the game in the bottom of third inning. Courtney Coopersmith grounded into a fielder's choice that allowed Maddie Daigneau to score from third base. Emily Reid limited the scoring to one run as the Retrievers held a 1-0 lead after three complete.

Julia Keffler extended her squads lead in the bottom of the fifth with an RBI double. Coopersmith continued her hot day at the plate when she drove in two runs with a single up the middle. After the fifth inning, UMBC had a 4-0 advantage. It was all the Retrievers would need as Maine was held scoreless.
