About the Black Bears
• Maine fell in both contests at UNH on Saturday and Sunday, falling 5-2 in the first contest before coming up short 3-2 on Sunday.
• In the first game, Maine's goals were scored by
Ally Johnson at the end of a power play for her second of the season, before Vendula Pribylova scored her seventh on a 2-on-1 rush with
Daria Tereshkina.
• Tereshkina continued her offensive push for the Black Bears, with an assist on Anna Zikova's power play goal to make it 2-1 on Sunday. She scored a goal of her own on the power play, redirecting a shot in front for her fourth goal of the year.
• On Tuesday,
Carly Jackson was named the Hockey East Goaltender of the Month for January, after she pitched three shutouts in eight appearances for the Black Bears over the month of January, posting a 3-3-2 record and leading all of Hockey East with a 1.23 goal against average and .952 save percentage.
• Maine is 14-12-3 overall this season, with a 7-12-3 record in conference.
About the Friars
• Last weekend, the Friars split their weekend of competition, taking a 2-2 tie at Merrimack on Feb. 1 before taking a 3-1 victory against UConn on Feb. 2 to earning three points.
• Maureen Murphy leads Hockey East in goals and is tied for third in points. Nationally, Murphy is fourth in goals and ninth in points.
• In goal, Madison Myers has appeared in 26 contests in net for Providence, holding a 17-8-1 record. Her 1.82 GAA is fourth in the conference and her .925 save percentage is sixth in the conference.
• This season, Providence has averaged 2.96 per game this year and have outscored conference opponents, scoring 57 goals to opponents 44 goals.
• Providence ranks 12th in the nation in scoring margin (0.93), sixth in the nation in penalty kill (88.2%) and tied for 10th in team winning percentage (.661).
