Maine's offense wasn't enough to match UNH's shooting outburst, which posted 37 shots on goal.
Loryn Porter, who came into the game in the first period, stopped 26 shots to earn the game's third star honors.
The Black Bears scored both goals on the power play in the second period. Anna Zikova scored her fourth of the season with a whistling shot from the point, negotiating a feed from
Liga Miljone to tie the game at 5:21 of the first.
Maine's second goal of the afternoon came again with the advantage, as
Daria Tereshkina with traffic in front, corralled
Ida Press' hard shot from the point for her fourth goal of the year.
Defensively, Maine blocked 18 shots on goal in the afternoon, making a dent in the barrage on goal. Maine's penalty kill held strong in the game, going 1-for-9 on the PK. Overall, Maine has a 14-12-3 record with a 7-12-3 mark in conference play, while UNH improves to 12-12-4 and 8-11-1 in WHEA play.
The Black Bears return home on Friday to host the Providence Friars for a weekend series. Puck drop for Friday and Saturday's contests are 2 p.m.
