Box Score ORONO, Maine- The University of Maine women's ice hockey team defeated conference opponent Holy Cross, 3-0.

The Black Bears offense got going early, as just 7:53 into the first period,
Liga Miljone found the back of the net, scoring her third goal of the season off of the rebound from the Holy Cross goalkeeper, Jada Brenon.
Ebba Strandberg picked up the assist after starting the 2-0 breakaway, her first of the season, along with
Ally Johnson who also picked up her first assist of the season.

Carly Jackson picked up five saves in the first period, keeping the Holy Cross scorers off the board to start.

The second period was a fast-paced period. Holy Cross had the offensive edge, shooting early and often. Holy Cross outshot the Black Bears 33-12 in the second period. Jackson was up to the task, stopping every shot she faced through the first two periods, compiling 21 saves through the two periods.

As the third period neared its conclusion,
Celine Tedenby netted her third goal of the season at the 3:17 remaining mark, as she received the lob pass from
Brittany Colton, who picked up her sixth assist of the season.

With 38 seconds remaining in the third period,
Liga Miljone netted her second goal of the game, fourth of the season, as she fired it the length of the ice into the empty net, coming off of an assist from
Ali Beltz, her fourth of the season.

Carly Jackson was key to the Black Bears victory, picking up her second shutout of the season, putting together a 28 save performance.

The Black Bears will return home to the Alfond, as they take on Providence College on Friday, Nov. 15 and then UConn on Sunday, Nov. 17. Both games are scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
