BLACK BEARS BULLETIN
  • Maine enters the weekend as the only other team in the conference with a winning America East record besides the 3-0 program from Monmouth. A win against Albany would go a long way for Maine securing a bye in the first round of the conference tournament.
  • Brianna Ricker continues to lead the Black Bears offensively, sitting fourth in the conference with 12 goals and 25 points on the season. Her four game-winning goals are tied for the conference lead as well. She has scored 42% of the team's goals this year.
  • Sophomore Chloe Walton has come on strong as of late, scoring in five straight contests to total seven goals so far this year.
  • The Maine defensive unit has held opponents to five or less shots on goal in five of their last six contests.
  • Mia Borley has posted a 2.34 goals-against-average over 820:59 minutes in goal. She's allowed just two goals in the last three games.
GREAT DANES DETAILS
  • UAlbany has hung in the top-25 of the Penn Monto/NFHCA Division I National Coaches Poll throughout 2019, entering today at No. 23 in the nation.
  • The Great Danes lead the conference in a slew of categories including goals for (45), opponents scoring average (1.25), and corners (128).
  • Dana Bozek leads the way offensively with 14 goals and five assists to rank second in the conference with 33 points. Bozek sits as the reigning America East Player of the Week, her second such honor of the season.
  • The assist leader in the nation, Kelsey McCrudden has totaled 14 assists this year, almost as many as Maine's team total of 17.
  • Statistically, UAlbany dominates the goalkeeping numbers as well. Redshirt senior Melissa Nealon leads the conference with a 1.26 GAA, as well as posting four shutouts in net for the Danes.
  • Phil Sykes enters his 15th season as head coach of the UAlbany field hockey program in 2019, guiding the Great Danes to six of the last 10 America East Conference Championship titles and six NCAA Tournament berths.
