LEWISTON, Maine -- The University of Maine women's track and field team won 17 of the 18 events to capture a 131-33 victory over Bryant in a meet held at Bates College on Saturday afternoon.
Bates, Keene State, Husson, St. Joseph (ME) and Franklin Pierce also competed in the meet with their scoring separate by rule.
The Black Bears garnered 15 individual victories and swept both relay events.
- Cassidy Hill won both the 60m event (7.90) and 200m dash (25.85).
- Ariel Clachar was the runner-up in the 60m dash with a time of 8:04 while Jessica Kroushl placed second in the 200m event (26.58).
- Lauren Magnuson won the 400m dash with a time of 58.39. She was followed up by Brittany Torchia with a time of 1:00.79.
- Elisabeth Redwood captured first place honors in the 600m run at 1:41.91.
- Catherine Christiansen was the winner in the 800m event at 2:26.46 and followed by runner-up Kaylee Porter with a time of 2:27.11
- The Black Bears took the top two honors in the 1000m run. Haley Michienzi won the event at 3:09.19 and Morgan Griffin took second at 3:20.38.
- Haley Lawrence was the runner-up in the 1-mile run with a final time of 5:45.76.
- Maine took the top two places in the 3000m event with Emma Jourdain capturing top honors at 10:59.83. Sarah Drummond placed second with a time of 11:02.80.
- Hope and Faith Gardner finished first and second in the 5000m run with times of 20:05.37 and 20:07.48, respectively.
- Katherine Cowan (9.29) and Brianna Ewing (9.31) finished neck and neck in first and second in the 60m hurdles.
- The team of Hill, Torchia, Magnuson and Ashley Anderson combined to win the 4x400m relay with a time of 4:10.64.
- Christiansen, Redwood, Michienzi and Kaylee Porter teamed up to win the 4x800m event at 10:06.31.
- Katherine Cowan placed first in the high jump, clearing 5-05.00 while Elena Ueland finished second in the event (5-03.00).
- Maine took the top two honors in the poly vault event. Taylor Lenentine cleared 10-06.00 to capture first place honors while Oliviah Damboise placed second, clearing 10-00.00.
- Anna Schumann won both the triple (37-05.00) and long jump (16-04.50).
- Caitlin Sardelis was second in the long jump, leaping 16-04.25.
- Oliviah Damboise placed second in the triple jump event at 36-03.00.
- Sarah Vanacore swept the throwing events. Vanacore won the shot put with a toss of 39-09.50 and took home first in the weight throw at 47.11.75.
The Black Bears return to action on Jan. 25 when they compete at the Terrier Classic before traveling to take on New Hampshire on Jan. 26.
