Last-Second Goal by Tedenby Gives Maine a Road Tie

WORCESTER, Mass-- The UMaine Women's Ice Hockey team battled to a tie at Holy Cross on Saturday, as Celine Tedenby scored the game tying goal with one tenth of a second left for a 2-2 tie.

First Goal: Midway through the first, the Black Bears got to work on a 5-on-3 power play. Celine Tedenby captured a rebound that was sliding towards her at the far side faceoff, jumping on the puck and firing it home for her seventh of the year. Her goal gave Maine a 1-0 lead.

Second Goal: After a flurry of saves in the Maine crease, where Jackson and Matteau combined to keep the puck out, Carlie Magier potted her sixth of the season from the far side hash to tie the game 1-1 with 12 minutes left to play.

Third Goal: Holy Cross' Julie Matthias gave the home team its first lead of the night, firing with space in the high slot to give Holy Cross a 2-1 lead.

Fourth Goal: Maine, pressuring with the extra attacker to fight for the equalizer, had the empty net and pushed for a chance in the crease. With 0:01 seconds left on the clock, Celine Tedenby scored her second of the night and eighth of the year to send the game to overtime tied 2-2.
