No. 18 Black Bears Can’t Complete Comeback in 3-2 Setback at New Hampshire

DURHAM, N.H. – Despite out-shooting New Hampshire by a 17-6 margin, the No. 18 UMaine field hockey team fell to the Wildcats 3-2 on Friday afternoon at Memorial Field. The Black Bears (8-2, 0-1 AE) had multiple opportunities to tie the game on penalty corners at the end of regulation, but the Wildcats (3-6, 1-0 AE) held off Maine to avoid an overtime period.
Nina Keur and Samantha Wagg both tallied second-half scores for the Black Bears, while Katie Audino, Bailey Fanikos and Rachel Thomson found the back of the net for the Wildcats.
In the cage, Mia Borley made two saves, in her second loss of the season. UNH's Kelsey Rudert registered nine saves in win.
