ORONO, Maine – Following its first loss of the season, the No. 18 UMaine field hockey team looks to rebound this weekend against two America East rivals in New Hampshire and No. 22 UAlbany. Maine travels to play UNH on Friday at 3:00 p.m., and will host the Great Danes on Sunday at 1:00 p.m. at the UMaine Field Hockey Complex.

About the #18 Maine Black Bears (8-1, 0-0 America East)
• The Black Bears are coming off a weekend of mix results against Boston schools, defeating Northeastern 9-1 on Friday, and falling to Harvard, 4-1 on Sunday.
• Maine maintained its No. 18 ranking in the Penn Monto/NFHCA Poll for the third consecutive week.
• After scoring 10 goals in two games this past weekend, Maine. continues to lead the nation in goals per game (4.78).
• The Black Bears are also top-10 in the country in several other categories including points per game (2
nd, 8.00), scoring average (2
nd, 4.74) and scoring margin (3
rd, 3.42).
• Among individual national rankings,
Mia Borley ranks fifth nationally in win-loss percentage (0.894), while

• The 8-0 start to the 2018 season was the best start to a season in modern program-history. The eight consecutive wins to start the season was matched only by the 1975 UMaine team, who defeated UMaine Farmington three times, along with victories over Bates, Colby, UMPI, Bowdoin and Southern Maine.
• Among America East teams, Maine continues to rank as the highest team in the conference, as No. 22 UAlbany and No. 25 Stanford continued to be recognized in the coaches poll.
• Through nine games, Maine has out-scored opponents 43-12 and have out-shot opponents by a mark of 162 to 57.
About the New Hampshire Wildcats (2-6, 0-0 America East)
• After defeating UMass 3-2 in the season opener, the Wildcats have fallen in six of the last seven games, downing Bryant 6-0 last Friday for their other win on the season.
• While UNH's record doesn't stand out, four of its six losses come against ranked competition in No. 19 Boston University (0-4), No. 15 Harvard (0-4), No. 14 Iowa. (0-2), No. 9. Boston College (0-6). Â
• Against the four nationally-ranked squads, UNH has been outscored by a combined 16-0 mark.
• Junior Bailey Fanikos leads the Wildcats with three goals and six points, while Nicky Bajus and Finn Caron have all tallied two goals this season.
• In the cage, Kelsey Rudert, Madelyn McAteer and Rachel Simkevich have all seen action this season. Rudert has seen the most time, but. McAteer has started each of the past two games. Smikevich made her first appearance in the second half of UNH's last game against Boston College.
