ORONO, Maine – The nationally ranked University of Maine field hockey team is set to begin the 2018 season against the Holy Cross Crusaders on Friday afternoon at the UMaine Field Hockey Complex. The contest is scheduled to begin at 1:00 p.m.
The No. 25 Black Bears have high expectations this season, after returning 90.4 percent of their potent top-15 in the nation offense from a season ago. All three all-conference honorees are back this season, with seniors

• Four key returners include Emily Loprete (9 goals., 4 assists), Suzanne Noone (4 goals, 5 assists) Lauren Ineson (2 goals, 3 assists) and Patriot League Goalkeeper of the Year Marcia LaPlante.
