BALTIMORE, Md. –
Kelby Mace and
Elijah White led Maine with third-place place finishes in the javelin and long jump on day one of the America East Championships on Saturday at UMBC Stadium. After the first day, the Maine men sit in seventh place with 12 team points.
White matched a career-best in the long jump, reaching IC4A standard with a top-jump of 7.07m for third place on the day. Mace tossed a season-high and IC4A standard 60.03m in the javelin, earning Maine six team points.
In the preliminary rounds on the track,
John Hassett (2
nd, 3.50.89) and
Jacob Johns (8
th, 3:53.61) both earned spots in tomorrow's 1500m run.
Benjamin Davis (3
rd, 11.02) and
Mozai Nelson (8
th, 11.16) qualified for the 100m finals tomorrow.
Elijah Yeboah earned eighth in 400m hurdles prelims (54.70) to earn a spot in tomorrow's run.
