GILBERT, Ariz. – The accolades keep pouring in for senior midfielder
Casey Crowley, as she was named to the Longstreth/NFHCA Division I All-American Second Team on Tuesday morning.
Crowley the 2018 America East Midfielder of the Year and Longstreth/NFHCA Northeast All-Region First Team member, tallied a team-high 28 points this season on 11 goals and six assists. She finishes her four-year career ranked fifth all-time in school history in assists and tied for 11
th in program history in both points and goals. She competed in the Victory Sports Tours/NFHCA Division I Senior game on Nov. 16.
The native of New Zealand was a driving force in Maine being ranked fifth nationally in goals per game (3.57 gpg) and scoring margin (2.07).
Crowley is the eight Black Bear ever to receive NFHCA All-American Honors, and just the third to be named as high as the second team. Nicole Sevey and Annabelle Hamilton landed on the second team in 2014 and 2015, respectively. Mary Lou Winstel (1994), Annie Elkanich (1996), Morgan Brady (2001), Tara Bedard (2002), Kelly Newton (2010 & 2011) and Hamilton (2013) all earned NFHCA Third-Team All-American honors during their careers.
The Black Bears advanced to the America East Championship game for the second-time in the last four years, ranking No. 19 in the final Penn Monto/NFHCA Poll of the season. 2018 marked the fifth time in the last eight years the Black Bears ended the season nationally ranked.
